Our masks are the highest quality hygienic face masks available – they’re approved to the UNE 0065 specification and are made with two layers of breathable 100% cotton fabric. The inner layer is a special technical fabric which has been treated to be water-repellent and anti-bacterial, and tested for filtration and breathability.

We’ve thought a lot about how to make the mask fit well and the design we’ve come up fits in a way that is both comfortable and promotes the effectiveness of the mask. The curved shape reduces gaping over the nose and comes down under the chin so it doesn’t move while being worn. And our masks come in five different sizes, so everyone in the family gets a perfect fit.

Effectiveness is important, but the masks also have to look great. We’ve got a range of cool printed fabrics and plain colours to suit everyone. We were so inspired by the resilience shown by children during the lockdown that we created our own rainbows design from paintings they sent us – it makes us so happy to see people wearing our rainbow mask around Barcelona as a sign of solidarity and hope.

Now that we know this crisis is not going away any time soon, part of our mission is to encourage people to wear reusable fabric masks instead of disposable ones. The environmental impact of disposable masks is too much for our beaches and oceans to bear.

We make our masks here in Barcelona rather than importing them from far away, which supports local employment. We are also committed to supporting those in our community who can’t afford to buy masks, so we’ve donated thousands of masks to local charities who work with vulnerable people.

We’re a small, international team who live in Barcelona and have experienced the Covid-19 crisis here. We started making masks because we needed them and they weren’t available. Now, with obligatory masks part of the new normality, we’ll continue to give people a high-quality, locally-made, environmentally-friendly alternative to disposable masks.
